I received the card today.

I wanted to thank all the members who make this forum a source of strength and support in so many difficult and trying times. I've read posts from many members and specifically members like Saras, UN, and Jack-O-Lantern whose posts always have been informative and very helpful.

I hope all the members waiting for approval get their approvals soon. And, those who are approved, I wish them a glorious future. God bless you all. Keep the faith.

Today I got the second FP notice. I applied my 485 in Feb 2006 at VSC and got first FP in March 2006. I didn't get any LUD after since 9/06. I called the 1-800 number to check the status but they didn't have any update regarding the Name check. They said it's still pending. Today I got notice for second FP. My first FP is within 18 months and so I think it's still valid. Is there any connection between second FP and completion of Name / Security check. Do we get second FP notice ONLY after the completion of Name Check? Please share your experiences.

Thanks for the wishes. I am a bit surprised that you got the second FP before the expiry of the first FP. Not sure if it's unusual.

There have been several experiences on namecheck. In fact this forum has several threads devoted to that subject. There is also a yahoo group devoted solely to name check issues. Some say namecheck is immediately initiated after filing I-485. If everything is clear I believe that process gets completed fairly quickly within a few months (six maybe, I am not sure). However I believe as others have written when there is a hit or a match it can get stuck for a long time. Some forum members are talking about years (sad scenario).

I could not get any insight into that issue as by the time I was thinking of taking an info pass I got the approval. I did ask the officer who took my call when I called TSC and initiated a Service Request about namecheck and theofficer would not say anything on it. I called FBI after my second finger print and again I never got any info on the namecheck except the officer saying we sent details over to Immigration.

If I had not got the approval I was also planning to initiate steps other members have taken like writing to congressman, letters to FBI and all that.

My attorney was also very clear and said we have no insight in that process of the USCIS.

I suggest you try Infopass as some members got more information out of it. Again each individual case is different and it all depends on divine intervention. Nothing wrong in trying.

And, did you do Labor Substitution? Just curious.

Can you tell me what is the card issue date ? Would it be that of the 485 AD or the card ordered date?

I rec'd card ordered message yesterday, but no approval notice sent. Did you? Or was is a straight card ordered card mailed situation, appreciate your reply

You may receive the approval mail and card mailed mails soon. Most of the time for my EAD these messages did not follow in the same order. However in the GC the messages seem to have gone through the pattern of approval, card prodn ordered, and then card mailed.

Most members have also seen card production ordered, then approval notice sent, and then card mailed. Just hang in there. It's a matter of days.

Your dates show that you seem to be on a fast track. Very impressive. When did you begin your GC process?
