Howdy!

So i received the following email on 5/1/2010:
"On April 30, 2010, we ordered production of your new card" --> and this was the same for the online status

then, out of the blue, this morning i received this email "On May 10, 2010, we ordered production of your new card"

I googled this and it seems like it happened to many people before..but I'm not sure if they ended up receiving two cards or just one. And if they received only one, when was it actually ordered?

The second production means your card has been sent

The same thing happened to my husband: first email that the card was ordered on April 28th 2010, and just changed again that it was ordered on 11th of May. Do you know how long it takes to receive an actual card after the second email? We are travelling outside of US in a week from today and not sure if we'll receve GC in time.

In my father's case - got two "card production ordered" emails - one on 5/12, one on 5/13 - but both says card production was ordered on 5/12.

Normally, it's less than a week between the sending notification and receipt (will the cards get shipped to an attorney that did your filing?).
This is cutting it close, you should consider getting an InfoPass appointment to have your passports stamped with a temporary I-551 (you might have to bring along your confirmed travel itinerary)

Usually 1 to 2 weeks.

If you don't get the card before it is time to travel, you can use any of these options:

1) Use Advance Parole to reenter the US. This is assuming it was applied for and approved when you were still in the US, and will not expire before you return.

2) Go for Infopass, bring your passport and I-485 receipt and a printout of the card production email and try to get them to give you a I-551 stamp

3) Leave the US without the card, then have somebody in the US send it you by international courier when it arrives in your mailbox.
