Car Registration in California

Hello all

I finally got in california and it has been 3 weeks actually. Today, I got my home internet connection. :)
If this question has been answered before, please forgive me. :)

I would like to ask you about the smog test regarding my canadian car. DMV office told me that I need to bring smog test and registration paper (canada one). And I stopped by one of the smog test center. And he said that I need to go to have that with Referee center since my car is "km", not milage. But it seems that I don't have to go there. Should I ? Please let me know your experiences or suggestions.

I was in the same situation and i told the guy to divide the total KMs by 1.6, he did it and I was all set.

Lets see what happen next year, my smog test is due in 2008
