Hi All,

I just took my photos in Costco yesterday and found out I cannot write name and A# with a pencil on the back of photos since it is so glossy. I tried, but no success. Any suggestions on this? Is there any alternative or should I retake from another store like Rite Aid, etc?

Thanks in advance.

Or write it on a small post-it note and attach to the back. You can also put photos in a clear plastic envelope and write on the envelope with a Sharpie. USCIS asks for this only to ensure that correct photos are used.

Same thing happen to us, because my wife got her photo's at Costco also. We tried the best that we could and mail in the photos with the application.

I cannot write on the back of photos with a pencil.

I would rather get it done at some other place, and send those photos. You would need to sign the photos at the interview as well.

Or else, you can send the packet as is - as being suggested by others and take a new set of photos with you at the interview and use the new ones instead, if required.

CVS is one place. If you go to the following link you can get a coupon for $2 off: http://www.cvsphoto.com/passport-photos

Generally any place that prints photos should be able to do passport photos.

From the information page about the N-400 on USCIS website, the photo that is taken at ASC is now used for your certificate. I wouldn't be surprise if the instructions are updated in the future that says photos are not required.
