My son has OCI card and I tried to get U visa transferred to his new passport. Indian embassy in Bangkok refused this service because rule changes around 2009 does not allow issuance of OCI to those with only 1 Indian parent, as in my case.
It appears like I cannot apply for a PIO for my son because he already holds OCI. (No proper reason to surrender OCI they say)
I do not want to have hassles at Mumbai airport.
Anyone had similar experience?
What are my options? (besides applying for a tourist visa, that is)
