We landed in Canada in February 2001 and since we won\'t be in a position to permanently move till 2002 February as we have a committment with the present employer. So we applied for RRP. Today we received a letter from the immigration officer asking us to meet him personally since he is not satisfied with the reason we have given for RRP. How should we handle this situation.

I think the new C-11 bill is about to be passed ( www.parl.gc.ca )
and www.cic.gc.ca , in which case you can be out for 3 out of 5 yrs
so no need to apply for RRP ! hopefully it will pass before
the end of May ...

But how should we handle the letter we have received from immigration officer? He has written that if we don\'t contact him in person within a month with more evidence that we do not intend abandoning Canada, he will reject our application. Since we have not established any residence in Canada he feels we want to abandon Canada. We will happen if he rejects our RRP application?
