canceling a greencard application

I applied to become a permanent resident through marriage and haven't gotten the interview appointment yet. I want to cancel the applications as the marraige didn't work out. Would I get refunded? I paid the total of $1490

Thank you

Thanks so much for the reply Pierre82. The link you shared is very helpful. Do you know how to cancel the application?

So here is the situation i am in, and would like to know what are the best steps are to get it right:
I got married legally 6 months ago with the intention to settle down and start a life here. When I got married my status was (asylum pending - no interview yet). Now, I decided to get divorce because the relationship wasn't going the right way. I got my divorce legally last week. In the meantime I applied for a green card through family (marriage) and the application right now is pending on Initial evidence (they requested a different birth proof).

I want to withdraw the application. what is the best way to do it without affecting my future here, my current asylum application, or if I decided to get green card through marriage again?
If the right path is to send a written request for withdrawal, then what is the appropriate and legal wording/reasoning I should use to not harm my USCIS profile or any future USCIS applications

Thanks

Hi Rshar,

I'm not an expert on this process but as the website stated. The petitioner (ex-wife) will need to send a letter requesting the withdrawal and including the reasons to it (Divorce). Your Asylum application should be independent from this one and should continue to run with a pending interview. If the marriage is no longer working and you already got a divorce, then is the best to withdrawal this request, since your wife will need to be involve in the process and you are no longer married to her.

In the internet they are several formats that you can use. Try searching with google.

So I wrote the cancellation letter and wanted to review with spouse so she can sign. However, they are not responding. What can I do at this point? I really don't want a pending case under my name or her name with the immigration

happy holidays

You filed the I-485, so you can withdraw that by yourself. You don't need your spouse's signature. You are not responsible for the forms that your spouse filed.

Thanks so much newacct. So that what I did, and just received a letter from immigration that they have accepted the cancellation letter and the case is withdrawn effective last week.
