Canadians Living in USA for more than 6 months

Is it possible for a Canadian citizen to live in the USA for more than 6 months without returning to Canada? that is to retire permanently or for say a longer period say 5-10 years?

All funds ($) necessary to live in the US will come from my own pensions and investments both in the USA and in Canada. Assume I will have to file income tax for those funds deriving from US pensions/investments only but nothing else?

NO. You will need a Green Card or a US citizenship for that!
