Hello,
I apologize for my laziness in not thoroughly searching the forums or the internet for an answer to my question.
I live in Canada buy my mom has her green card and lives/works in the United States. If I were to apply for a green card, how long would that take to go through? I know there is a limit of something like 23,400 GC's per year for first preference individuals, and the country of citizenship (in this case, Canada) does have some bearing on how long I might have to wait, but I can't seem to find a reliable number of years.
Can I still move to the U.S. while my application is pending?
I can't seem to make sense of the Visa Bulletin for October 2009. Does anyone know how many visa's/green cards are available, particularly for Canada (if applicable)?
Thanks
