3.if PIO or OCI i have to apply than , can i apply it from US.
thank you

Indi,
If your plan is for a vacation and you don't have long term plans to study/work/live then it would be best if you just got a tourist visa with your Cdn passport. You can easily get the visa by mail htese days through a new system. Check the website of the Indian consl closest to you.

PIO and oci are for people who will stay longer. They cost a lot more, take longer to process and need a lot of supporting docs when compared to a visit visa.

Since OCI gives a lifetime visa, it's a better option if you visit India multiple times in the future. It can, however, take 1-2 months, so depending on when you want to go to India, either OCI or a tourist visa can be your option.

Yes, Canadian citizens can apply for OCI (or visa) from US from the consulate under whose jurisdiction your state comes. Are you on work permit or green card?

According to cgitoronto.ca website, its taking 15 days to process the OCI application. Is this timeframe correct. Any posts with experiences with cgitoronto?

May be true if that's their official word - though in the US it's taking anywhere from one to 3 months depending on the consulate and individual situations.

So far you are the first Toronto applicant I have seen posting on this forum.
