I can't find any record of a case like mine so hope somebody can help!

I am a Canadian citizen, but have resided in UK for last 30 years. I hope to get TN status to work in the US.
I would like to fly straight to the US from England (this would be Bristol to Austin via Newark) can I apply for my TN visa at Newark or Austin airports?
Or should I fly via Ottawa? My Dad lives there so I could stay with him if I was denied entry...
thanks in advance for any advice.

It depends on your TN category and how confident (well prepared) you are about getting it. If yes, you can fly straight to the US POE and apply for a TN. If you are hesitant, applying @ the Ottawa airport is a good idea.

I am determined to present a watertight case, though I am a little worried that my english accent and unconventional port of entry may raise suspicions? Maybe even at ottawa airport?

If you're that concerned fly to Ottawa and apply enroute into the US. Worst case they find something wrong that you can correct and at least you're someplace semi-familiar, can take the time to fix the application then re-apply as opposed to enroute back to the UK.....
