Canadian PR and US H1

Hi,
I got the information that currently new immigrants who have H1B and are entering Canada are either asked to cancel their H1 before entering or their pasports are stamped so that they cannot move out of Canada till their PR Card arrives. Is it true?Has anyone of you heard of this? In that case returning to US within 7-10 days of landing would be a tough deal !! Any light on that?
 
This was not the case at least till about 4-5 months ago. They really do not care if you have an H1 at landing time......unless you heard something different recently?

Also, you could go to the US the same day. Once you have landed, you have landed and have the right to leave and stay outside as per the residency obligations.
