canadian PR acknowledge time for fresh application????Please Help...

Hello All
I applied for Canadian PR and once i sent the documents i also got postal acknowledgement card from Canadian Consulate(Buffallo) two weeks back on 9/21/2004. But i havent heard anything from them after that. I was expecting a mail with any case number assigned to my application.
How long does it normally take for them to act on a fresh application.
I dont find any numbers to talk to them. How do i reach them?? Any idea. Please let me know some details.

No one responded to my question yet..can you guys please help me how to reach to canadian immigration officials. I applied for PR two weeks back but i did not get any response yet from their office at Buffallo.However as i said i got postal mail acknowledgement saying they received my documents.
I am not sure how much time it will take them for reviewing the documents??
Please let me know if anyone has any idea??

Now its taking more than a month to get AOR.

Thanks for the response but i was just curious. What is meant by AOR??
what does it stand for?? Also i know its a long way to go but how many months would it take for complete processing of Canadian PR once we get AOR??Please let me know..

AOR - Acknowledgement of receipt.

Based on current timelines, I would say, u r probably looking at late 2005/ early 2006 for the entire process.

It has been 6 weeks since i applied for canadian PR at Buffallo. I still did not get AOR from them. I got postal acknowledgement on september 21,2004 and still waiting for AOR. I was told it would normally take about 4 weeks but now it is 6 weeks. Is there any way i can reach their office and talk about my application. How do i find the status of my application. Can anyone of you please help ASAP.

You can contact the consulate only by fax, no phone call.

Some of my friends also applied in Sept'04 and they are yet to receive their AORs..So, don't worry, hang in there..Sometimes it feels soothing when you know you are not the only one in the boat....
