Hello Dear all,
Please help me if any one knows about this.
My green card is in process. Currently my case is with National Visa Center. NVC has sent me packet#3. Now I have to send them the documents along with DS-230 form. I am a Naturalized Canadian Citizen and lived there for 3 years to get my Canadian citizenship.
I understand that I would need a Canadian police clearance just like the one from India.
My question is that do I need to provide the Canadian Police clearance at the time of submitting the packet3 to NVC.
Or I should just submit other documents and wait for NVC to ask for Canadian police clearance.
In Packet#3 they have asked for birth certificate, marriage certificate, h1 visa, passport copies and the online web site says that I should collect other documents also like police clearance etc.
I am asking this because I checked online and Canadian police clearance may take from 4-6 months.
Also I am asking this because I have seen many postings stating that people get Indian clearance after the interview call.
I asked this question to my lawyer. she said that we should submit the police certificate along with the packet3. But she was not very much sure about this. because she has not processed very many green cards which take consular processing instead of 485.
One more question:
I read on another forum that we don't need finger print back ground check and that takes about 4-6 months. we just need the name check. But on the same forum some one else was saying exactly the opposite. anyone knows about this please share the information.
Thank you so much in advance.
