Canadian Needs Advice and Help!

Hi there!

Please help me- I am a Canadian citizen by birth, and I have been with my fiancee for 3 years, we currently live together in Canada- he has dual citizenship US and Canadian.

He's graduated university and has been working for the last few years here, and we've been planning on relocating to the US.

I was planning on applying for a J1 visa, and doing an internship while living with him in the US- and then applying for the K fiancee visa- however, I've just learned about the 2 year Home Residency Requirement. That's not going to work for us.

So I am wondering if the best option is for him to move to the US, get a job, set up shop, and for us to apply for the K fiancee visa.

Am I allowed to stay with him in the US while the paper work / process is being completed? Or do I have to stay in Canada until the Visa has been approved?

How long are we looking at being a part for?

And once we get married- I'm unclear about this whole work permit situation.

Please help me! I'm greatful for any advice!

THANKS SO MUCH!
