Canadian Immigrant visiting US

If a canadian landed immigrant lands in Canada for first time with her parents, Can she visit US the next day?

hmmm.. maybe ..maybe not

I have heard of several cases where ppl have tried to do just what you say and have been refused entry into the US. They have tried subsequently like maybe 3 or 4 weeks later and allowed. It all depends on the INS officer at the point of entry.

But it surely looks odd if someone starting out fresh in a new country decides to go to to the US shortly after arriving.
