Hi All,

here is the situation:
1) Married Sister > Canadian Citizen but no income , living on Welfare .

2) Married Brother > Indian Citizen (32 years old),

If the Sister(Canadian) files a petition for her Indian citizen brother for an immigrant visa (Canadian), how many months it will take to enter to Canada?

I am sorry to say but your sister can not sponsor you. Family Class applications for permanent residence are limited to a limited qualifying relationships of Canadian citizens. She may however sponsor you IF:

the sponsor (Your sister) has no spouse, son, daughter, father, mother, grandfather, grandmother, brother, sister, uncle, aunt, nephew or niece.

Also the fact that she is currently living on welfare will be a big factor(in a negative sense). I suggest you hire a lawyer to handle your case as s/he can give you the best advise.
