Can You Withdraw A GC Application due to Spousal Abuse?

Going against the wishes of many members of my family, my sister who is a US Citizen, legally married a creep while visiting family overseas. They entered the marriage in good faith. He is now living with my sister and our parents and entered the US on a K visa. Both she and her husband have already submitted his GC application to USCIS.

Due to his constant verbal (and possibly physical abuse - but at this point it is only a suspicion), my sister has finally 'come to her senses' and no longer wants to sponsor him for a green card. They have not been legally married in the US. Their application is in the very early stages, I don't even believe he has received his work permit or advance parole yet.

Would my sister be able to withdraw the green card application? If yes, how would she go about doing it?

Yes

Yes, she can write a letter and attach Notice of Action for all forms, and request that it be withdrawn due to her need to end the marriage, which is abusive. She can be general in her request about it being abusive, and USCIS will immediately close the case, no questions asked... If she is in such a hurry, she can go to a local district office with all the paperwork, request that it be withdrawn...
