Yes you can, but two things need to be met. A) There was time left on your 6 years H1, 2) The H1 visa numbers have not been aexhausted for that year, because this will be considered a fresh H1 and will be counted against the annual H1 quota limit.
As you may know, the H1 quota has been exhausted for fiscal year 2006.
