Hi
My passport will expir next year in June but I can not renew it
before december.
If I get approved and stamp the GC on current passport, is it possible to get the new passport stamped once I get it in December or January?
Any one in same situiation?

Dont worry

Danny,

My Assumption in this case is that you have an Indian passport

If you get a new passport after you got your GC stamp on the old passport. Indian embassy issues the new passport and cancels the old passport, In the cancellation it states that the visas are valid. So you dont have to get your GC stamped again as they are valid only your passport expired.

Hope this helps!

no problem

I know many people who have been going around with their old passport stapled to their current one for years. They still have their original H-1B stamp, still valid, in the old passport. As the previous poster said all those visas in the old passport still valid.

Thanks Guys

Thanks Guys!!!

I was more of thinking whether INS will restamp the new passport if I request, or if anyone has done it already.

Thanks
