I'm finding it a bit tricky to get closure on these issues. If my wife has an FP appointment at my local office on 11/30, but is going out of the country on that day for 5 weeks, what's the best course of action...?
1) She will try and go for an early FPing. If that doesn't happen she will reschedule. The form says "next wed or sat". 5 weeks is well past though, so I'll need to request _at least_ 5 weeks delay. Will that be fine?
2) Some have mentioned a 90 day window after the FP expiration, but the lady at USCIS (not that she knew much) said there is not one. Opinion?
3) My wife has not yet received the FP notice (I did for 11/30, which is why she will likely be around the same time or a couple days later probably). I think that USCIS has the wrong address for her 485 though. If she calls and updates them for the 485 how quickly can they bounce back a returned FP notice? She'd need to obviously get it well before the due-date, so that she could reschedule (unless she's lucky and it's prior to 11/30).
4) Lastly, if one of us is out of the country with an advance parole, and the GC is approved, how do we get back in? Presumably an AP would be invalid at that point, but we'd have no GC. Would the guy at the border know that the GC had been approved and let us in (or, if he didn't, then the AP would be fine obviously).
thanks!
