and do a business on yr spouse name and continue to work for current your employer. what impact could it have on yr GC?

yep you can ca. Your spouse is the one who is doing the business and you are still employed with the current employer. your spouse should hold a valid EAD card at all the time. there cannot be any gap in her ead (even one day)

Bindaas -

My immigration attorney said as long as you are still employed by your sponsoring employer, you can open your own business and even have several other gigs on the side. Since your wife's EAD is through you, I am sure the same principle would apply to her as well.

Good luck with your business.

You can start C corp

However S corp need Green card. FYI: you can start your own company and you can sponsor your h1 for yourself and if revenue is good, you can even sponsor your own GC. I know few people who did that. Many will scare or mislead this info either theay may be fearful or jealous. Check with any good accountant.
Good luck

Options

With EAD, you essentially have the following options:

1. Start a C-Corp [S-Corp needs green card]
2. Start an LLC
3. Your wife can also start the above two

You can start business-
We have C-corp.
One can have LLC (Limited Liability Corp.) also.
S-Corp after Green Card.

With EAD I belive, you can apply for SBA Loan also.

We were running a motel for 1 year.

You can have Fed-tax ID and state tax id and start your own business.
Go ahead. Best of luck.
