can you leave usa once you get the green card??

hi,

i'd like to know can i leave usa once i get my green card? or am i resistricted to stay in america. if i can leave then within what time limit do i have to come back to the usa?

ya. you can leave U.S as long as you receive your GC. If you leave the U.S for more than one year otherwise you will break you GC status. You can leave the U.S for a maximum period of 2 years with an Application for Travel Document from the USCIS.
If you leave the U.S for more than one year without USCIS approval, you will lose your status for sure!!.

Can you enter US and then leave say within 1 week without receiving your green card first but return back within 6 months??
