Can you leave US before you get GC??

Here is the question, if you go to the interview and you get the passport stamped, you enter the US, can you leave the US and come back in for example one month even if you didnt get the GC in your mail, I mean with the stamp that you have in the passport or do you have to wait for the GC card to travel outside US?

Hi,the purpose of stamp is to let you back into U.S. if you happen to travel before getting a physical green card.However,some folks dont feel comfortable travelling on it due to travel uncertanities like e.g an immigration officer at non US port lets say somewhere in Africa or India is stuborn enough to only accept a valid visa or green card before you get onboard.

Again,the purpose of stamp is to let you travel as before it used to take couple of months for a GC to arrive after final approval.

Yes you can ..... a friend of mine has done that last year....he wasn't in the States when the green card arrived to his relative home.........then they send it to him at his home country by mail.
