Can someone tell me about the following situation:

Can you leave U.S without the I-485 reciept notice?

Today, I asked with my lawyer same question.
She advises me to wait until I-485 receive notice because once we get the reciept notice than our entry/exit can be tracked in I-485 application.
 
Do not rush!!!

Unless you guys have valid H-1 visa or valid AP, do not leave the country, because that make the I-485 application to be considered abandonated and there is noway any one can get pass the immigration border patrol with just I-485 Receipt. Whoever tells you differently is trying to make you feel good.
