My daughter is a US citizen and my son is about to become one. Both are over 21 years old.
I am interested in moving to the US at some point to be closer to them. I am in a very good job in the UK just now so would not want to move until I had the right job to go to in the US.
Obviously, having the Green Card makes it much easier to look for a job. But if I am approved and then don't immigrate within a year or so, do I run the risk of losing the Green Card?
The other option is to wait until I have a job lined up and then apply for the Green Card. But that involves going to potential employers without having the Green Card or the knowledge of how long it would take to be approved - which could put off many companies from hiring me.
Any advice on this would be very helpful. Thanks.
