I was confused. My spouse applied DV lottory 2006. I have applied I485 as primary and is currently pending.

Q: if my spouse won the DV 2006, Can he file I485 for me?
Q: Can I have two differnt I-485 with different catagories?
Q: will the 2nd I-485 jeperdize my current I485 application?

Thanks!

There is no limit but..

There is no limit to 485 applications being filed by an applicant BUT most of the lawyers do not think its a good idea as this creates a lot of confusion at USCIS.

Also there is no problem if you are primary applicant on one application while a derivative on the other. Some lawyers advise this as well. They say if so is the case then one application should be filed for AOS while on the other consular processing should be requested. A lot of professional couples do this.

THanks for your reply!

You mentioned the other consular processing should be requested... Do you mean if we won the DV, we have to go outside the country to get the greencard?

Frankly I dont know how the lottery thing works

I only have knowledge about employment based procedures. Better consult an attorney.
