I am a DV-2008 winner from Europe and currently i am continuing my univeristy studies in Europe.I paln to finish in 2010.
Wishing everything goes ok at my interview (doing CP) in April 2008, and i get approved for the green card when i enter USA can i apply for the reentry permit right way,or do I have to wait for the actual green card to arrive at my address in USA.
Can I leave the USA,and ask the people where i will be staying to send me the green card in Europe taking into account:
1. that I may not be in the 6 months approval visa period that they give you if you pass the interview (for instance if visa is approved in april,2008 i go to USA in september,2008 (6 months period)).
2. or when they approve you in the interview you go right way in USA and return in Europe so in a 6 month period of the approval visa for the green card if the actual green card has not arrived you can go back to USA and wait for the actual green card.
I need to return to Europe to continue my studies, so the time it takes to get a green card (when you arrive in USA) up to 10 month creates a conflict with continuing my studies.
After finishing my studies (in 2010) i plan to return to USA as a permanent residence.
Can someone give me a good opinion to resolve this conflict.
