can we submit copies of documents for N600K?

I'm asking the grandparents to make an application for our kids with the N600K. We must show all sorts of things like birth certificates, marriage licenses, passports etc. Can I mail copies of those with the application? There is no where on the USCIS site that tells me how they would get those actual docs back to me, so I'm assuming that I should submit photocopies.

Is this correct?

What do the instructions say? The N-600 instructions say to submit copies (if I remember correctly). We did submit copies for my daughter's N-600
