We filed our AOS with affidavit of support, we claimed my husband's father as a household member, living with them. Can we move out before we get the greencard or do we have to stay at the same primary address? I can't seem to find an answer anywhere, so if any of you have experience with this, please help!!

Please give more background ... what kind of application is it, who is the sponsor, is there a co-sponsor, who is immigrating, etc.

Hi, we applied for my family-based (through marriage) adjustment of status/ green card. My husband is the sponsor, he is an American citizen. We don't have a co-sponsor we opted for the "contract with a household member" option. That's where our question comes from, because to qualify as a household member you have to share the same primary address, and now we don't know if we could move out or if that would violate the affidavit of support rules.
Thanks for responding. Any ideas?

If you move out, you would need a new affidavit of support with the former household member as a co-sponsor. Unless you as a couple now have additional income that would eliminate the requirement for a co-sponsor, in which case you would have to fill out a new affidavit of support with the new income information. Bring the new affidavit(s) of support and supporting documentation to the interview.

One more question: After I get my green card are my husband and I free to move out?
Thanks for your help!
