Can we get AP in one day in local INS office ?

Friends, help me, My wife wants to travel India for her younger brother marriage which is suddenly arranged (Yesterday only). She must start this week-end to attend that function. We didn't apply for advice parole this year as we didn't think we would travel this year and more over we never thought it would take so long getting our GC.

Today we want to try walk-in local INS office? is it possible to get AP in one working day? if I say marriage as reason probably they won't accept the reason so I thought I would tell 'personnel reasons' - what do you say?. I also try contacting senator. I emailed my attorney too waiting for reply. But I hope I will get some good answers here.

I can understand her curiosity to attend her brother marriage, so I could not say no even there is no time for getting AP, purchasing tickets and it may be very tough to travel with a 2 yr kid in a hurry.

Working on EAD since 18 months used AP once last year.

I think your spouse has a valid reason for travel. Request them and see what happens. Keep us posted. Best of Luck.
 
I think marriage would be a geniune reason, they won't accept personal reasons, they would ask What?

Also you would need to take some proof with you, like Marriage invitation and to prove that the person getting married is your wife's brother. May take copy of your wife's parents' passports and your wife's brother's passport.

Saying is not going to do the job, you have to show documents and if you go with all the documents and put everything in front of them before they ask it's going to make your life easy.
 
Thanks mavishka,prem. I asked them in India to fax invitation and his passport. What documents I need behind some proof, I-485 receipt, old APs, EADs, fee amount, 131 form.
 
They stopped issuing walk-in AP at Newark

whatever your reason could be, either emergency or not. they won't issue AP at Newark. we had this experience 2 months back. all we have to do is file it before and in case of emergency you have to fax them the request and prrof of emergency (max six pages of fax). we got it that way for my wife's AP which was pending for 2 months..
