Can we file two I 485 petitions at the same time? One for EB1, One for NIW?

Hi, My husband filed I 485 based on EB1 as Outstanding Researcher and Professor. But now we realized that he can\'t change job right away after the the approval of GC since it is employment based. We want to know whether we can apply NIW at the same time and use NIW to apply I 485 again.
Any info is highly appreciated!
