Can we file I140 separately not concurrent filing?

Of course you can file separately, it's your call anyway - if your I-140 is in the right categories. My understanding is that the only disadvantage of not filing concurrently is loosing time - when you file concurrently, the timer on your I-485 is still ticking when waiting for your I-140 approval.

yeah in fact you can always file 485 while your i140 is still pending... in my case filed I140 in Jan03, filed 485 in april03.
 
long_wait_4_gc, My I140 RD is 01/03 and I485 RD is 04/03. I am in the same boat as you. Have you heard from BCIS for any RFE or approval. Any updates at all.
