Can we do FP in other state?

Hello

My wife received her 2nd FP notice. It has our old Chicago
residence address. (We had sent address change notice and
also called the INS service center to update the address when we had moved to California.)

Can we go to the nearest support center in California even though FP notice has Chicago address?

Also do we need original notice or FAX copy is accepted?
(My lawyer has faxed me the fp notice. We never received
applicant copy of the fp notice.)
