Can we do FP at a different center? Gurus/Experienced folks plz. speak!

Hi all,

 Can you please provide some info. on this one?
  
 Can \'FP\' can be done at any INS/Support Centers \'OTHER\' than the Designated center in case the applicant can\'t go to the designated FP Center?

 Has any one done this one? Will the FP will be SENT to the CORRECT INS Processing Center? Is there anything that we have to do(such as call VSC etc.,) AFTER doing FP informing about this \'change\' in FP location (Or) when we go to the different service center to do the FP such as Informing them where the FP Results to be sent?

 Is there any \'Pros and Cons\' of this method?

 Please throw some light on this matter.

 PS: Even there might be many questions asked earlier on this topic, if this is a repeat, bear with me. :-)

It should not matter where you do FP

We did our FP in TX although the notice was for other state. The guy told me that the FP goes to FBI automatically and then FBI forwards it to appropriate service center. He said that we are fine even if FP is done in any other INS.

I have no idea how far this is true. But a few of my friends who did FP in other states got approvals without any problem. So I guess, we are OK.

Given so much confusion in INS, why do you want an extra dimension to it. Just do it in the place, where it was assigned to you. Unless, it is extremely difficult to do, then seek a new FP notice to the place of your choice, by calling the IO and explaining the situation. In this way, you don\'t have to double guess about your application dates.
