can we claim unemployment benefit

I am going to be laid off. As asylee, can we claim the unemployment benefit? Will this affect our green card application?

Yes you are 100% eligible to file for unemployment benefit and it will not affect your GC at all.
I got my unemployment after i was layed off and i enjoyed my benfit.

It is nothing to do with your GC process. You are paying tax
while working so you got to get the benefit.
They will check with BCIS only if you are legally in the US before giving you the benefit.

Interestingly enough, asylees get more benefits than those who got their green cards such as food stamps, medicaid, etc. This is such a paradox since asylees are not technically "permanant residents"
