DOS

Write to Colin Powell of DOS and complain, especially after a recent DOS Human Rights Report.
Write to your Congressman and Senators and complain.
Write to Prakash Khatri and remind him whre he came from.
Send e-mail to AILA and complain.
Write to the Embassy in question and complain.

dsatish, can we have a discussion of such cases in the new forum that is started and for which you are a moderator.

similar experience

My inlaws were at chennai consulate on 3/22, consulate people asked about their children details and they replied that son and daugher live in US and another one in India, actually i sponsored for them (Son in law) they just didn't bother to look into any papers i sent over but asked for their sons passport copy since they don't have it with them they sent them back with a paper saying section 214(h).. also they ate up Rs 4300 from each

Is this not a SCAM to make money by not evening looking into the docs and asking irrelevant docs ,

I guess we should take of the visitor visa issues too along with the EB based GC

Visas have always been subjective. I don't know how it can or will become objective. I suppose they have a quota to fill of rejections- to keep everybody straight. So if you fall in that bucket you are out of luck.
Letters from senators/congressmen have a negative impact. Long time ago a freind of mine working for MIT on H1 got a recommendation letter from Sen. Kennedy was still rejected the 3rd time "Sen. Kennedy does not run the visa office".
HTH

I can relate to this

In 1992 my visit visa was rejected in just 30 seconds. The officer did not even look at any of my supporting docs. The fact that I went the following week and got it does not change the abrupt manner of the initial rejection.

At that time I remember thinking - There seems to be no one in between the consular officer and God. The next level of appeal is up there in the clouds.

thanks for contributing to this discussion

Hi , for people whoose family members are stuck due to multiple rejections even for a visitor visa, is there any other way to come over temporarily in a legal manner.

the guy in question has a gc.

how about

bringing the parents/visitors for a US tour through some tour company? It's quite expensive - around Rs. 2 lakhs/person and they still have to go alone for getting the visitor visa - but there would not be any 'sponsor' in this case.

Just a thought - I haven't done it.
