Can there be two different I485s at the same time?

Like most of you I am quite frustated waiting for the CSC to make any progress. Actually, my case is little precarious since I got laid off a few months back and I am now going back to school. Even if they reach to my case, there is some likelihood that it may not get approved.

Luckily, I can also follow another avenue. I am married to a US citizen and I am planning to apply for green card in LA based on my marriage.

I was wondering if anyone knew of any law that prohibits an invidual to have two simultaneous AOS pending. Also, any idea on how long the processing if for the marriage based case in LA?

i do not think there is any law which prohibits that......looking at different chats on murthy.com it is definitely NOT recommended



...this is just my opinion please refer to lawyer..for correct info

Can you please point me to the chats that discuss why filling 2 I485s is not recommended when one is family based and the other one is employment based?
