Can the $15 000 in My Bank be ' Borrowed ' ?

Working out this years Budget.

$15 000 is ALOT for someone to save in a year esp if they are only earning 24k a year + Taxes.

1) Would I be able to borrow the money from the bank a Day before and stick it in my account ( And obivously pay it back a day later )?

Or

2) Would say $10 000 be enough to show I can support myself?

Or

Am I going need a sponser?

1. I believe that borrowing it from the bank a day before the interview definitely won't be accepted. The same if you get the money from your mother or whoever right before the interview.... they sometimes want to see bank statements that go back for a couple months so that they can see that it is actually your money.
2. I would not risk it => try to get a job offer or/and to find a sponsor.

You don't need to show that you're currently earning a certain amount of money each month, you need to show how much you have saved. If you don't have enough money (check the poverty guidelines on http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_1327.html to have an idea what might be expected), you need to get an American citizen or a greencard-holder to sponsor you, or you should have an offer for a job in the US.

Well, your applying to move to the US under US standards, rules and laws... one would imagine the poverty standards are issued in US currancy too

Are there any other options here?

I'm stressing out now because assuming I win my Once in a Life Time Greencard at best I'll only have 12k by the middle of next year. That's assuming I save every single dollar and dont spend a cent on Food or Fuel.

If I go for the interview and they whinge about my Funds what can I do? What are my options?

Upgraded - have you won DV-2008? If not, and assuming you win 2009, the earliest you interview can be is October next year.

Well even still, I just dont want to take any Chances.
I havn't won yet, I'm putting everything together so if I do win 2009 I can just walk in, slam all my papers down and give a big cheesy Grin.

I'm wondering if this plan will work.

Save $15 000

Get a $5000 Loan ( For fuel/car ect )
Then if I dont win I'll just use the $15 000 to pay the loan back.
