Can`t do the biometrics on that day...

I am doing my petition to remove conditions on residence through marriage. So far everything has been fairly smooth. However, they scheduled my biometrics appointment on a day in which i am away from my city. I see that there is an option to reschedule. My question is, is it "bad" to reschedule or it's ok? looks like should be a fairly smooth thing to do but is this going to create me problems as in "if you reschedule you don't really care much and take it seriously"? if i reschedule do i have to put the reson? does it have to be a good reason? I am actually going to see my wife's family for Thanksgiving and we don`t really get to see them much....is this a trivial reason?
any feedback on this would be much appreciated
thank you

People have different experiences... Here are few options:

1) re-schedule; preferred way is to go to the office and have it re-scheduled... and chances are that they'll take your biometrics.

2) Take this letter to the another ASC where you're going... chances are they'll take your biometrics then.

3) Take it to the ASC where it is scheduled, before or after the scheduled date and they should take biometrics...

So, nothing to worry about.

suggest you to do "walk In' bio in advance. if they are not busy that day, they will let you go. many people did that!

Hi Andrea
Friendly advice......
Try going in early and they might do your FP. There are lot of threads which say walkin FPs are happening. If its me I would try to finish it before rather than posphoning it. I have seen cases with friends who had done it early by doing a walkin as they cant do it on the date in the letter
I am mentioning the below just to warn you against if anyone suggests going to the local office in the place you are visiting
TRY NOT TO DO YOUR FP IN ANYOTHER OFFICE, THAN ONE ON THE LETTER AS I KNOW OF PEOPLE WHO HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE FILE WHEN THEY DID IT IN DIFFERENT OFFICE THAN ONE SPECIFIED.

Thanks

My opinion is dont give a reason or a chance for USCIS to come back to us applicants with an excuse. Your reason to go out of town must be very important hence you cannot cancel, but I would try my best to attend to the date of appointment, if not precaution is always better than cure. Good Luck and let us know how its goes! :)

yes, do "WALK-IN". I was done WALK-IN way.
They asked me why i came early, and I said my company will cut my salary therefore I came on Sat. instead. Then, they took me.
So, think a reasonable reason and go WALK-IN, worst case is they don't take, that's. Or you can finish this early. There is a chance. Like people said, many got FP done early than scheduled.
