I will be ready to file N-400 next month. I have a 15 years old daughter and I understand she can not file N-400. She needs to file N-600? and we file at the same time?

If not, when she needs to file N-600?

I really appreciate if someone can tell. I am a new comer to this site. Thanks.

After you become citizen file N-600 for your daughter. She will become citizen when you become citizen (automatically). You can get her passport at the same time when you get it. It is highly recomended to get her Certificate of Citizenship (by filing N-600 after you become citizen).

I assme your daughter has a GC.

She does not need to file anything. The procedure is as follows:
1. YOU file N-400.
2. Once you get your Natz (i.e. you are a citizen) then AUTOMATICALLY your daughter is a citizen too. (assuming she is still under 18).

The only problem isyou daughter needs to prove that she is a citizen. Therefore, she may take either of the following:
1. File N-600 (remember, only AFTER you are a citizen).
2. Get a US passport from depart. of State.

While we recommend that she does BOTH of the above, this is only a recommendation. She is a citizen whether she files N600 or not. The filling of N600 is merely for the sake of proof that she is a citizen. Similarly, she can get herself a US passport without filling N600.

See child citizenship Act at the USCIS website.
