It seems more unlikely these days to get H1B because of the lottery system. If one finishes a degree and is nearing the end of the OPT period, can you apply to another college for another degree program and study further?
e.g. F1 visa issued for 3 years from July 2007-July 2010. Studies completing Dec 2008 and OPT will finish Dec 2009. If one is not lucky enough to get H1B by then can you take up another study program to study further? If yes, how does the visa and status work out?
I guess you get another I-20 from the new school of study and have to apply for extension of F1 status based on new degree program timelines. Is that correct?
