Can renewal of AP or EAD trigger action on 485?

Hello Guys,
Is it true that filing for renewal of AP or EAD can trigger some action on pending 485? If this has happened to someone can they please share their experience? RFE was issued on my 485 on 12/15/2003, my attorney replied and I have been waiting since then. My AP expired on 02/14/2004; I did not apply for the renewal all this while thinking that my 485 will probably get approved soon. No sign so far.

I think I read on this forum that applying for renewal of AP or EAD triggered some kind of action on 485. So I was thinking maybe I should try that.
Any advice / comments will be appreciated. Thanks in advance

My experience is this.
My I-140 was pending for more then year. I applied for EAD and received approval of I-140 within a week.

Then In November Third/fourth week (i do not when attorney sent it exactly) sent the employment letter for AC-21 purpose I get approval of I-485 in January.

From this what I believe is they open your file whenever there is a movement. Otherwise it will be sitting some where in the rack.

Yes it happened in my case.
As my FP was nearing 15 months period, I decided to apply my EAD renewal for a chance of getting approval .
As per my belief, I got approved without any RFE. I did not get the EAD and money back. That was fine. I got approval.
I suggests strongly to apply AP/EAD

Thanks guys. I'll apply for the AP, coz I need it anyway. Who knows when my 485 will get approved.
 
Yes, there is a chances are there. Mine is approved. I applied EAD renewal and AP first time on Oct 1st'2003 then approved on Jan 21st '2004
