My friend who is a DV2006 winner may have interview in Aug/Sept. She just discovered she is pregnant. Can this make her fail the interview? Also should she inform KCC? Please respond. Thanks

No, she wouldn't fail just because of that.

The board "owner" from http://www.eskimo.com/~parents/webpre//dv/about.html relates his experience with his wife being pregnant and giving birth to their child very close to the interview date!

Deepnding on the delivery date, you should more worry about is where you are going to give birth ( US or home country ) for health insurance purposes.
Remember that you have 6m from the date of approval to go to the US.

Another thing you should consider is your medical exam. If your wife needs "shots" (such as Hep B, Tetanus etc.) can she have them while she is pregnant? If not, then you won't be able to do the necessary medical exam.

i'm pregnant and i did my medical. Thankfully, i didn't need any shots. If you're in the states and you have health insurance, your insurance will cover the shots (because you're a woman), i updated my shots before i got pregnant.
In regards to the Medical Exam and if you need shots, the doctor will ask that you take them after you deliver. It should not disqualify you at all or delay.
by the way, Hep B is not mandatory... the only shots you need are (Tetanus & MMR, Varicella which is chicken pox if you didn't get the disease when you were young)... if your doctor tells you that you need the rest, he's just trying to make money.

good luck

Thanks Meemoo.
Ignore the advice I gave earlier because I'm not pregnant and haven't done the medical so Meemoo is way ahead of me on this subject.
