Can one work part time on EAD

All,

Can I take a part time job once I recieve my EAD while working full time for my employer on H1B ? Doing so would slow down GC process ? Appreciate any suggestions.

yes, ead allows you to work for anyone at the same time

well, as soon as u use ur EAD, u loose H1B status.
I would advice against using EAD.

As long as you work full time for the H1 sponsoring company you will not lose your H1-B status. But if you dont work for the sponsoring employer but use the EAD to take up a new job using your EAD then it will invalidate your H1-B status.

Well, I too thought the same. But I remember I was told not to use EAD in this forum even if I keep on working for H1B employer. I would ask some legal expert about this.

I guess microdev1 is right. Irrespective of who the employer is (whether it is the GC sponsoring company or some other employer)...if you use EAD, you are no longer in H1 status.

Others, any comments?
