Can one work for themselves after 180 days?

I got myself a consulting opportunity recently.. my question is I\'m well over 180 days and my project is ending, I don\'t think my employer will be able to find me a new project.. can I changed job to my new company and work for myself?

Yup you can do that as long as you can earn your self at least LC salary. I had few e-mails swapped with one fella who did exactly that and got his GC after an interview (VSC area).

really? but when I spoke to my attorney today, she gave a big NO NO ... I asked her why? and she didn\'t even bother to give me the reason.. the contract rate is at least 4 times more than I\'m making now.. I told my attorney and she doesn\'t even bother..

can you tell me who\'s your friend\'s attorney?
