can one file and send N-400 while out of the US ?

PR (on GC for 10 years) am now outside the US for 2 month and am coming back in 1 month. Would like to file and send N-400.
Is it ok to send it while outside the US and state on the form date I left the US without stating a return date (as am coming back next month)

Better to wait until you come back as you have to list the total number of days that you were outside the US on each trip.

It's not a good idea to send it when you still have 1 month before you return. You may get a fingerprint appointment for before you return, and missing it or asking for it to be rescheduled could cause a bigger delay than what you were trying to save by sending it in so early.
