Can one apply for EAD renewal while outside the US?

Hi All,

I am in the US while wifey's on a 3 months long vacation to India. While she is away...her EAD will expire.
Is it necessary that she has to be in the US to apply for the EAD renewal?
Or can I just get her to send me the signed forms, and I can then send them to USCIS?

I am the primary applicant for the 485.

Note: She will be using her AP while returning.

No, your wife doesn't have to be in the US to apply.
However, she will have to be present for biometrics.
If you efile then you can call and schedule your biometrics.
I am not sure if biometrics are required for paper based EAD,
but you will be required to send in new pics for that, but you
will get a biometric appt in the mail and you can always reschedule.
