Can one Apply for Canadian Citizenship after TWO AND Half yrs of stay in Canada?

I will complete my 2 1/2 yrs this Dec. Is it possible for me to apply for
Canadian Citizenship after that period instead of waitng till my 3 yrs period is done. Also from Vancouver long long does the citizenship take?
Because I want to move to USA soon as my spouse lives there.
