I have an employment based I-485 pending with CIS. I was going to apply for a marriage based though my husband, who is a US citizen. I was hoping to amend my I-485 from EB to MB instead of reapplying with a new I-485. However, I just got off the phone with an immigration officer who told me that they don't do that and I need to apply all over again. Has anyone been in the same situation before? Please share!

Yes you would have to re apply. But you married a citizen! Which means you are eligible to file anytime and you will get your GC very quick

Marriage based cases goes with I-130. Hence you need to file an I-130 and I-485. Also you can go CP by apply solo I-130 which will be faster.

Marriage based cases goes with I-130. If you want adjust status here you need to file an I-130 and I-485. Also you can go for CP by applying solo I-130 which will be faster But you have to go to your native country.
